Pascale Otis, Biologist – After working as a scientist for many years in the polar regions, Pascale decided to try filmmaking ! She made Mr Bingles one evening with some Fimo modelling clay and decided to make a short film for Grant’s 2-year old nephew. The films “Mr Bingles flies his kite !” and “Mr Bingles goes fishing” were such a success with his nephew that Pascale decided to make more films with the puppet. This time, she wanted to film in Canada, in the snow… so Grant and Pascale took Mr Bingles skiing ! These films are made for young children, just for fun, with no funding at all !
Grant Redvers, Environmental scientist – Grant has been working in the polar regions for the last 13 years. In fact, Grant and Pascale’s “real” jobs are to lead expeditions in the polar regions (Arctic and Antarctic) ! Grant volunteered to be Mr Bingles’ puppeteer, and that’s how the first film was made (“Mr Bingles flies his kite !”), followed shortly after by “Mr Bingles goes fishing !”. The third film (“Mr Bingles goes skiing !”) was filmed at Pascale’s parents cottage located in Québec, Canada.
