Extras !

Here are a few extras that are on the DVDs. Enjoy !

Mr Bingles visits Antarctica !
We filmed this during the Students on Ice Antarctic Youth Expedition 2010 and University Expedition 2011. It is footage we used to make a cool little video with Geoff Green saying hello from Antarctica to his son Fletcher. Fletcher is a big fan of Mr Bingles (and Geoff too).

Mr Bingles and the Cat !
Mr Bingles plays with Jazz in New Zealand ! Poor cat… we completely traumatised her !

Mr Bingles meets the filmmakers !
Grant and I filmed this short intro when we were working on the very first Mr Bingles episode (Mr Bingles flies his kite !).

Pee-Pee-Lee-Poo-Poo !
Well… what can I say… I just wanted to try this trick using Charlie (my ventriloquist doll). Charlie seems to scare everyone (especially kids), so I decided not to use him in a Mr Bingles episode. But he was still useful for this video. I took a photo of Charlie, then filmed myself. In Final Cut Pro, I « cut » holes in the photo (top layer) for my eyes and mouth (bottom layers) using a « mask shape » and selecting the oval shape and inverse effects (you’ll have to duplicate the oval shape to get both eyes and the mouth). Then use the « mask feather » option to smooth the transition between the layers and voilà ! Pretty cool trick ! And very easy to do !

Mr Bingles meets Jean-Pierre !
Jean-Pierre is a very noisy Canada Goose ! He lives in the town of Rivière-Rouge, Québec, where we have Greater Snow Geese (that come from eggs I collected on Bylot Island in the Canadian Arctic) and Canada Geese. Both species have been used for my scientific research since 2000. Yes… Mr Bingles’ « mom » is a scientist ! I actually studied cold adaptations in polar birds that live in the Arctic and Antarctic.
